Our Talks and Exhibitions are open to everyone, but if you choose to become a member of the Society your entry to these is free. Members also receive an electronic newsletter every 3 months. The newsletters contain articles or interesting snippets about local history and it is also the best way to keep up to date on how our current projects are progressing and how you may be able to participate in them. You could, of course, start a project of your own!
There is still a lot to discover about the history of Stalbridge and one of our aims is to continue researching it. If you think this is beyond your capabilities, think again! Getting together with other people who have some experience can point you in the right direction.
We currently have about 65 members, some of whom have been awarded an Honorary Life Membership for undertaking important and time-consuming work for the Society. But most of us are individual or joint members (2 people at the same address). The membership year runs from April 1 st to March 31 st , but you may join at any time of the year.
Our AGM is each September and this elects the management committee consisting of Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer with up to 6 other members. We are always delighted to welcome new members to the society and to take part in the management committee.
