A local court dealing with public order, offences and community responsibilities.

A Court Leet was a local court concerned mainly with matters of public order and community regulation.

Unlike the Court Baron, which focused more on landholding and manorial business, the Court Leet dealt with issues such as minor offences, breaches of local regulations and the appointment of certain community officials.

The court could require members of the community to present offences and report matters affecting public welfare.
