A matter formally reported to the manorial court for consideration.

A presentment was a matter brought before the manorial court for consideration.

Presentments were commonly made by the homage jury, who reported offences, failures to perform customary duties, changes in landholding or matters affecting the community.

After a presentment was made, the court could decide what action should be taken, including imposing an amercement or ordering a tenant to carry out a required obligation.

Presentments provide valuable evidence about everyday life, disputes and the responsibilities of people living within the manor.
